Nutmeg Mace (Javitri) comes from the seed of the Myristica fragrans tree. Indonesia produces the majority of the world's nutmeg. Nutmeg is the shelled, dried seed of the plant Myristica fragrans, and mace is the dried net-like covering of the shell of the seed. The spice flavors many dishes, both savory and sweet, in cuisine across the globe. In Kerala, Nutmeg is cultivated in the moist and tropical climate of the Western Ghats, mainly in the districts of Idduki and Kottayam. Its of very high quality and in high demand around the world.
